Hello, I’m Margie Bauer.
I’m a fully qualified, highly trained Specialist Addiction, Trauma, Grief, Mental Health and Relationship Psychotherapist and Counsellor.
Having worked with people from all walks of life and in a diverse range of practical settings, I’m passionate about helping my clients get back the lives they deserve and dream about.
My approach is warm, innovative and down to earth.
I’ve completed extensive post-graduate studies in all aspects of addiction, trauma, mental health (in particular, depression and anxiety), grief and loss, and family therapy. These are the great passions in my life and I bring to each session a combination of the latest science and a wealth of lifetime experiences.
Recovery is the focus of my therapy. We are all recovering from something – whether it’s stress, loneliness, boredom, shame, depression, grief or having our heart broken. Or whether it’s recovery (or wanting to recover) from addiction to alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, gambling, pornography, sugar, shopping, eating disorders or social media. Recovery matters. It is possible for all of us.
I began my own journey in recovery from chronic addiction over 30 years ago, so I understand first-hand the challenges and wonder of recovery. I honour all paths to recovery from all addictions.
To change, to grow, to connect, to stay connected, to be the very best of yourself are the reasons to come into therapy. And this is the core of my work.
I believe in helping you shine on the inside as well as the outside. My goal is to help you feel more at peace within yourself and to find a life of meaning and purpose.
Know that it’s ok to be human – to sometimes feel broken, lost and afraid. To accept that you are enough, just as you are. You are special. There is hope. And I am here to help.
Love Margie.
